Climate Factors
wind and air masses
-
-
Cold air comes from the poles and warm air comes from the equator. Wind systems spin because the earth spins. Wind systems are like a energy distribution system they balance the atmosphere.
When warm air meets cold air it is forced up to cool condense and then rain.
-
Latitude
the further from the equator you are the colder it gets but the closer to the equator you are the warmer
-
Latitude is an Imaginary Horizontal Lines that surround the earth, never intersecting. With the 0 degree line at the Equator and Divides the earth into North and South
Elavation
If you live near a cold current then the coast will be cold and if you live near a warm current then the cost will be warm
-
Elevation affects local temperature because the higher up you go few molecules means that higher elevations are colder because there are fewer partials to trap heat
Ocean Currents
-
Ocean currents are massive flows of water , 90% of the worlds currents come from the poles and warm currents come from the equator.
Ocean currents move in circular patterns.
