stem cells

There are stem cells in your bone marrow, these can be collecetd, cloned and made to differentiate into and type of blood cell
in adults there are significantly less stem cells as most have differentiated, some remain for repair and replacement
In a young embryo, all the cells are stem cells so that they can be cloned and used to produce any human cells by differentiation

The cell cycle
Cells divide to make new cells, for growth and repair
step 1- The cell grows larger and makes more sub cellular structures, ribosomes and mitochondria( enough for two cells)
-
Tiny fibres in the cell pull the copies of each chromosome to opposite ends of the cell, breaking the replica chromosome apart. This means the nucleus divide into two, each with the full set of chromsomes
