Ramah v Laton: 2nd wife claimed that before she marries her late husband, she formerly married another man, divorced, and gained properties in Beranang Selangor. Later, she sold that land and the profit was used to buy a land in Tg Malim. Later, she sold the Tg Malim's land and buy new land which is the subject matter of this case. Evidence shows deceased husband was a lowly paid laborer before death. Among decisions held by Ct: Harta sp property divided into two equal share, one goes to the living person and the other one is divided based on faraid. If a poor woman marries rich woman and the wealth expands, the whole estate is regarded as wife's and none as pusaka on death of H, or the husband may get compensation if he helps cultivate and develop the land. In another case, if property acquired after marriage by husband's labor, on his death it become pusaka.
