1-Anamnesis:
History taking (What happened before can happen again), Family history, Current episodes to look for any of the etiological signs.
3-Paraclinical:
CBC, Coagulation profile, Renal & Liver function, Blood group & crossmatch, Ultrasound, Urine analysis...
2-Clinical:
Bleeding, signs of shock, uterine atony, nausea and vomiting, pain, headaches, fever, tumoral masses, BP, Glycemia...
VI-Prevention
Secondary (Early detection and management)
: Screening, manage risk factors, vaccination, Infection prevention.
Tertiary:(Manage severe complications)
Advanced medical and surgical care, Postpartum care and monitoring, Mental support, Family support
Primary (Prevent the onset of complications):
Antenatal education, Family planning, Improve nutrition and lifestyle, Education, Access to care.
III-Etiologies
Eclampsia (Toxemia) (11%)
Infections (14.5%)
Post-partum hemorrhage (31.7%: Uterine atony, cervical or perineal tears, uterine rupture, tissue retention.
Secondary (Cardiac(14.5%), Cancer(4.5%)...)
V-Management
Eclampsia:
Control the seizure (Magnesium sulfate), Control blood pressure, Stabilize and extract the fetus, Monitoring.
Treat
Infections
and
secondary causes
PPH:
Resuscitation and stabilization, find the etiology, medical TTT if failure -> Surgical TTT, Monitoring.
