What is codeine and what's an opioid?

It is an opioid pain reliever used to heal mild to moderately severe pain.
The presence of opioid is in opium found in the poppy plant. Made into medicine (Painkillers) for all sorts of pain in the body.
Codeine can come in tablet or syrup form, still in the opioid class for treating pain.
Overdose Numbers and Recovery Rates:
Although codeine can be overdosed along with other opioids or drugs. WHO states that in 2019 worldwide, about 600,000 deaths accountable for drug use and about 25% of deaths were caused by opioid overdoses. There are effective opioid treatments but yet less than 10% of people who need such rehab are receiving it.
What does codeine treat?
Commonly mixed with other drugs to reduce coughing or other colds. But it is also a single product unless combined with acetaminophen or aspirin.
Which country legally uses the drug for medical purposes or regular use ?
Widely used as an analgesic, its available for sale in pharmacies as an over-the-counter drug in multiple countries like the UK, Ireland, France, Denmark, Poland, South Africa, Japan, and a pre scripted medicine in countries like USA and Australia.
Dangers:
HIGH RISK for drug abuse, misuse, increased mortality and addiction.
Codeine accompanies high overdose death rates.
Length of hit:
Symptoms of a codeine overdose include lips and nails getting blue (cyanosis), breathing problems and chills and more.
Long term body effects:
When using codeine for a long time and it turns into a habit, the user is mentally and physically dependant on using the drug. Like other opioids, there can be worsening pain (opioid-induced hyperalgesia), there is change in moods and lack of emotion.
The way the drug is taken into the body:
Codeine is absorbed by the gastrointestinal tract. Taking codeine every 4 hours results in a steady state for up to 48 hours. Most foods don't really affect the absorption of codeine.

It is said that some people use codeine to deal with their mental health issues regarding depression or anxiety in order to get high or fast alleviation (to get high).
The opioids bring a variety of responses from feeling of pain or ache to pleasure and relaxation.
When a person takes codeine it can also negatively impact their concentration, so they might feel confused and restless to cope with their daily lives. The feelings of euphoria are almost constant when taking high doses.
