Another way of their survival was the food they ate; Mammoths were commonly known as herbivores, meaning their diet consisted of eating grass, Mastodons selection of foods were leaves, Ground Sloths meals consisted of leaves and grass as well, insects, fruits, and Saber-Tooth Cats were carnivores, meaning their dietary needs were thick skinned prey (e.g. Mastodons, Horses, and Bison).
