SYSTEMATIC REVIEWS: - Coggle Diagram

- - - - BIAS: start the review with a predetermined research question. based on the literature. you set you own inclusion /exclusion criteria. e.g. any preconceived ideas you have of the lit. within your question introduces a bias (there are no studies on females that have looked at topic so in your question you decided to only look at males this introdues bias. dont introduced bias from the start.
        
        Be as specfic as you can. e.g. is physical activtiy associated with diabetes, this question needs to be more specfic. so that we have less studies that are more relevant to our search e.g

        Narrow: what is the effect of supervised running for treating depression
        
        very narrow: what is the effect of supervised running for treating depression in young adults aged 18-30 (you have introduced a population

  - - - How to search and find articles
        
        (1) run searches in PubMed/any databases that you want to use
        
        (2) Apply filters (you inc.& xclu. criteria.
        
        (3) export reference of other important papers in your research area.
      - break down question into key concepts using PICO, identify subject headings (MESH) for each concept is applicable, identify text words for each concept
        
        TIPS: use a target article or previous review to help identify search terms that they have used. Use a work sheet to keep track of the your terms that you using across each data base. check you key words with your supervisors
