People work in hotels, as tour guides or in eco-tourism businesses
Ecosystems
The building of roads and airports has helped these people, but the destruction of natural resources resulted. Many trees were cut down and wild plants used as medicine were pulled out before they could regrow.

Many people moved away because of this, moving to urban settings in search of a better life
Animals
Animals are kept for their milk, wool and meat
Communities move with their animals and familes up the mountain for the summer and back down in the winter
