Romanesque
Religious Art/Sculptures - the church had art/sculptures showing past biblical screens and/or holy figure inside or around the church, it gave each church a unique, individual beauty.
Little to no Windows - the windows were very tiny compared to the rest of the church so hardly any natural light could make it into the church, because of this the inside of the church was filled with candles which gave the interior a fortress feel.
Tall Towers/Heavy Roof - the tall towers were meant to have the church closer to heaven, but they made the roof heavy which needed lots of support ("Thick Stone Walls")
Thick Stone Walls - the walls were made as thick stone Walls to support the heavy roof on top of the structure, but as a result, the walls left little room for windows.

Flying Buttresses - stone supporters that stand outside of the church, the purpose was so you could build the church higher.
Gargoyles - they stood on top of the church and were meant to scare the demons away and remind people to go to mass in a scary way, they also acted as gutters for the roof.
Big Stained Glass Windows - these windows often have religious scenes, holy figures, or just a beautiful colorful design in the shape of a rose window, or tall/long windows.
Pointed Tall Towers - the height and point of the towers was meant to make the church closer to Heaven and God, the roof also was shaped as the cross which is a very important symbol in Catholicism
