roles and responsibilities: define and assign responsibility and tasks in all sectors
laboratory functions: maintain and improve systems for potential hazards
legal climate: issues concerning legal authority and liability barriers
countermeasures and mitigation strategies: isolation, quarantine, and social distancing tested and improved
health risk assessment: identify hazards and responsibilities
mass health care: develop and test capabilities to provide mass health care
public information and communication: ensure everyone can access credible information in appropriate ways
robust supply chain: identify critical resources for public health emergency responses and keep supply
What does PHEP require?
full range of prevention, mitigation, and recovery activities
operational capabilities- the ability to quickly execute a preparedness task
PHEP is not a steady state, it requires constant improvement like testing of drills and trainings, formulating execution strategies and action plans
