Joint types
hinge - bone articulates with a bone, held by ligaments, motion limited - eg elbow
condyloid - flatter bone , 2 ranges of motion , wrist
pivot - rounded bones articulate, one plane eg radio-under joint
ball and socket- ball shaped head and cup shaped socket, all 3 planes eg hip and shoulder

flat bones - sternum, rub cage, pelvis - protect internal organs
long bones - femur, act as levers for movement
