This new countercultural type was called "Beatnik" (term created by a journalist. -nik<Sputnik, the first artificial Earth satellite lauched by URSS which created anxiety in USA people), they lived in dirty apartments, hitch-hiked along route 66, explored nudity and senses, used hallucinogenic drugs and alcohol, didn't wash themselves, vs dress conventions, had long hair and beards, wore worn-out jeans and t-shirts and sandals, loved underground culture (ex.
