- Materials and Equipment It may seem like a trivial matter to list the materials needed, but good planning includes knowing what you need to bring with you or what you need to arrange to have in your classroom, make sure your plan includes the following
a. An opening statement or activity as a warm-up and to determine adequate prior knowledge on the part of the students
b. A set of activities and techniques where you have considered appropriate proportions of time for whole class work, small group and pair work, teacher talk and student talk

Assessment Informal assessment can take place in the course of most classroom activities, so make sure, after students have had sufficient opportunities to learn, that you have adequately considered how you will (a) assess your students' success and possibly (b) make appropriate adjustments to your lesson plan for the next day.
