        workers formed THE CHARIST MOVEMENT, which asked for the abolition of PROPERTY RIGHTS, salary for Parliament's members and univeral suffrage for men over 21 years old
        
        in 1848 it was disbanded, but workers continued to fight for their rights in TRADE UNIONS
        
        parliament passed some law, like EDUCATION ACT in 1870, which imposed to children to go to school until the age of ten
        
        the middle class feel superior and they knew which were worker's contidions, they often show they wanted to help them but it was only apparent, they had to keep the idea of respectability
        
        DARWINISM => Charles Darwin wrote about species evolution, he said for every species, only strongest speciments survive;
        this theory diffonded soon and whiteman started to feel superior and more civilised than other population; this idea was used to justify imperialism and colonialism

        victorian novels were more complex because social structure was more complex, this genre was so diffuse tha we can divide it in subgenres:
        
        SOCIAL NOVEL => were the mirror of reality, authors described all difficulties of workers life and often they gave them a way to escape the reality; for example Charles Dikens wrote novel about children conditions and their exploitmnt in industries
