What makes this source different compared to the others is that Is connected to this branch is it looks into a different depth of information that helps to show examples of different way that the “Fight club” film is compared to his counterpart that is written in book form. From the way it is visually more striking of a presentation in the movie with the reduced focus on narrator internal struggles and how the film shows more omitting details about the motivations compared to the book. This source being from Teresa Hefferman “When the Movie is Better Than the Book: Fight Club, Consumption, and Vital signs.” is an important source of information because it is going to be used to help show examples of the masculinity shown in fight club for both the book and the film for this source in general. I would say that this source is helpful and useful because of how it goes into depth on the different situations that change just a little or could be not that noticeable if not for them being shown side by side. It additionally shows big and drastic changes that happen in both the film and the book that took place to give it a twist of its own or for when they were created, knowing how they weren't created at the same time. It also shows the examples of masculinity from both the books and films perspective and how masculinity in a whole is represented in the film or book of “Fight Club”. This is why I choose to use this resource as a tool and an informative place to gather information for the “Fight club” examples on masculinity in the film and book to show the key differences to how it has changed over time or how somethings have stayed the same for the key reason to further show example of how it compares to other films.

This gives me a great source to go into depth on how masculinity is shown in real life or even in the films that are not “Fight club” and how it is different or same in very key examples on what pops up the most in my opinion. Why I choose this source to investigate the movie “Gladiator” as my other film or movie to compare to “Fight Club” is because of how it shows a representation of masculinity in different movies. This source from Medium, “Gladiator - The Ultimate Lesson on Masculinity?” shows a big difference to me when it comes to the way it focuses on masculinity, bringing in a new way for me to investigate as an example of a way that changes towards how masculinity is being seen in different movies. The movie “Gladiator” in key detail goes into how his masculinity is being tested for his way of being wise, how he takes upon justice and the courage and temptation he has through the film. It also shows masculinity in a different spotlight with the loyalty that is portrayed to be seen that the movie represents towards how masculinity is supposed to be when it comes to loyalty to his love for his wife and family despite everything going on. This source helps to go into the examples of romance that is attached to masculinity and how that in addition is like “Die Hard” when it comes to examples of that and how it is differently portrayed compared to other films like “Fight Club” and how they choose to portray masculinity in a movie to the audience and maybe how they believe it is like in the real world. This is why I am using this as a resource to investigate and compare the movie “Gladiator” to the other films or movies like “Die Hard” and “Fight Club” throughout this project.
