Henry II's son, Richard the Lionheart, spent only six months of his reign in England, because he had to fight on crusade in Palestine and he had to regain the French territories he had lost during his absence.
His brother, Prince John "lackland", reigned in his stead and when Richard died he became the king, but he was very unpopular, because he had lost all England's territories in France.
