Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) - Coggle Diagram
Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Phase 4: Designing the Recommended System
Using the
data/information
collected in the previous steps to develop a
logical design
of the information system
Designing the system based on the following criterias:
Procedures for
data entry
.
Human-computer interface
System controls
Database and/or files
Backup procedures
Model of the actual System
Phase 5: Developing and Documenting Software
System Analyst coordinates with
programmers
and
users
to the develop and document the software.
Develop the software with the programmers.
Inquires the users for feedback to help develop the documentation (user manual).
Programmers design, code and debug the software from syntax errors and other bugs.
OUTPUT
Computer programs (software)
System documentation
Develop the documentations of the system or software via help files, user manuals and the website with Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).
Phase 6: Testing and Maintaining the System
Testing is done by both the
programmers
and
analyst
.
Test with
sample data
, not actual data.
Maintenance is carried out
routinely
.
Updates may be done via a vendor site on the Web.
Tasks:
Test the information system.
System maintenance.
OUTPUT
Problems, if any
Updated programs
Documentation
Maintenance documentation.
Phase 7: Implementing and Evaluating the System
Tasks:
Train users
Plans smooth transition from the old system to the new system
OUTPUT
New system installed
Trained personnel/user
Review and evaluate the system
Phase 3: Analyzing system Needs
Activity
1.Create the data flow or sequence diagram
Complete the data dictionary
Analyze the structure decission made
Prepare and present the system proposal
Output
•Recomommendation on what,if anything should be done
Phase 1: Identifying Problems, Opportunities and Objectives
Activity
• Interviewing user management
• Summarizing the knowledge obtained
• Estimating the scope of the project
•Documenting the result
Output
Feasibility Report
Phase 2: Determining Human Information Requirements
Activity
•Interviewing
•Sampling and Investing hard data
•Questionnaires
•Prototyping
Output
• Know the business function
•know how to make new system more usefuland usable
