Naturalization
Submitting a form N400 application
Card holders (permanent residents) for 3-5 years or meet certain military requirements
become a citizen after meeting specific requirements
Processing time takes about 4 to 9 months from time you file to the oath.
Must be at least 18 years old and it cost around $760.00
Citizenship by Marriage
Must be married to a U.S. citizen, submit form 1-130
Must be a permanent resident of the U.S. for 3 years
Must have good moral character, speak English and have knowledge of U.S. history
Citizenship through your parents
If both parents were born in U.S. and are married then you are entitled to U.S. citizenship
If one parent is a U.S. and you were born on or after November 1986
If the U.S. was present for the first 5 years in the U.S. at least 2 of these years must have been after their 14th birthday
Citizenship through the military
If the Individual has served in the U.S. armed forces
Naturalization depends on whether you served during peace or hostility.
Not required to be a permanent resident if serving during hostile times.
If serving during peace time must serve one year and have a green card.
