there has to be a good villan to make a good horror movie
in my opinion if they are goofy or clumsey its better becase it creates more humor
sometimes in horror movies the vitam knows the killer
the villan usealy has a mask to hide his face

if there isn't tense its not really scary
the only horror movies that is good without tense is the Tcm
like try taking away the creepy music then it wont be as scary when the jump scare happens
tense just makes it more scary
First of all the feeling when you get jump scared is good because of the relief afterward.
gore
gore just makes horror movies more yummy
you don't really have to have gore but it just makes it better because you're scared for what's gonna happen and some times it grosses people out
likeable main chareters
if there isn't good main chareters you wont care if they die

like able chareters are usalry really funny and nice
like ash from evil dead he's a likeable character because he's kind
