Stages of Change Model:
A model which individuals will go through sets of stages when changing a behavior instead of making the changes all at once
Precontemplation: An individual has not yet considered changing their behavior
Contemplation: An individual is actively thinking about the benefits and barriers to change
Preparation: An individual is developing a plan of action
Action: The change in behavior takes place
Maintenance: The new behavior becomes a permanent part of the individual's lifestyle
Health Belief Model:
Another model that individuals will face a change of behavior
They believe the condition has serious consequences
They believe taking action would benefit them
They are exposed to factors that prompt action
They believe in their ability to successfully perform the action
Theory of Planned Behavior:
Behaviors are influenced by an individual's attitude toward performing a behavior.
Social Marketing:
The use of marketing theories or skills to achieve social change
Product
: Identifying the behavior that is being marketed
Price
: Identifying the benefits and financial cost
Place
: Identifying that target audience
Promotion
: Organizing a campaign to reach the target audience
Branding
: Words or symbols that help the target audience identify with the service
