Present tenses
Actions happening now or around now: Used for ongoing actions or temporary situations happening in the present.
Example: "I am studying for my exams right now."

General truths, habits, and routines: Used for facts, things that are always true, and habits.
Example: "Water boils at 100°C."

Past actions with relevance to the present: Used to describe actions that happened at an unspecified time in the past but have a connection to now.
Example: "She has finished her homework."

Actions that started in the past and are still continuing or recently stopped: Often used to emphasize the duration of an activity.
Example: "I have been working on this project all day."

Actions completed before another past action: Used for events that occurred before a certain point in the past, showing which happened first.
Example: "By the time we arrived, they had already left."

Ongoing actions in the past: Used for actions that were happening at a specific moment in the past, often interrupted by another event.
Example: "He was reading when I called."
