definition
High-flow oxygen therapy is a type of respiratory support that delivers a high flow rate of heated and humidified oxygen through a nasal cannula. Oxygen therapy, more generally, refers to the administration of supplemental oxygen to increase the amount of oxygen in the blood. This therapy is used to treat hypoxemia, which is a low level of oxygen in the blood.
indications for High Flow- SOB, cyanosis, Tachycardia/pnea, restlessness and confusion, hypoxemia
severe indications- severe pneumonia, trauma, sepsis and shock
