Myxedema Coma: Thyroid hormones are too low
Thyroid Storm: Thyroid hormone levels become too high .
Cause: Body is unable to compensate for the severe deficiency of the thyroid hormones

Cause: Life threatening emergency characterized by an exacerbation of a hyperthyroid state. Usually the result of an undiagnosed theroid disease or too high of TX for hypothyroidism.

PUFFY FACE,
MACROGLOSSIA, PTOSIS
Seizures
Constipation
Deterioration of mental state
PABCD:
A & B : Maintain open airway and monitor pulse
C: Monitor pulse
P: Place in supine position
D: Admin O2, Monitor temp w/ blankets, and activate EMS
Anxiety
Psychosis
GI Symptoms
Tachycardia
Fever as high as 108

P : Place in supine position
A & B : Open airway & monitor BP
C: Monitor Pulse
D: Admin O2, Monitor temp w/ blankets, and activate EMS
Signs Of Recovery & Signs of deterioration
Recovery: Vitals stabilize, improved mental status, and decreased symptoms
Deterioration: Worsening symptoms, coma (although rare, and death if airway is compromised).
