Agricultural Revolution
During the 1700's ish, humans started to apply technology to farming. This meant more food per area of land. More food means better nutrition which increased life expectancy, so the global population started to go up.
Industrial Revolution
So the new technology in farming meant less people had to work as farmers. They moved to the city for jobs in factories, usually making fabric. The industrial revolution brought many new technological advances. Steam Engine, Electricity, Medicine, Vaccines, Sanitation (underground sewer systems).
Infant Mortality
Places in which have access to more hospitals, doctors, and health services, more children have a higher chance to survive to adulthood. The better the healthcare, the more the growth rate increases.
-
Education
Empowering Women
As levels of education continue to increase, particularly for females, the average age of marriage increases too. Women who marry later usually have lesser children, which lowers the birth rate.
Social Attitudes
Countries where larger families are more common, the country's population growth rate will most likely be higher.
-
Economy
A stable economy lessens the need for a large family. Living in a place with a strong economy provides more education and job opportunities. Somewhere in which their population consists of more employed females might just have a lower growth rate.
