the aim is to prevent harm and reduce risk of abuse and neglect towards adults with care needs
safeguarding policy should
show ownership of the safeguarding policy
maintain and review a record of concerns
follow safe recruitment procedures (DBS)
maintain premises equipment
make sure all staff are aware of their responsibilities
report concerns promptly
be alert of signs and symptoms of abuse
make provisions for whistleblowing
tell staff you have an open door policy
cooperate with investigation with child services adult social care
support and protect plans put in place
