Kerissa Sharpe [No Longer Greenleaf] (Kim Hawthorne)
Kerissa is introduced the prologue through the lens of her best friend Sybil just living an average day in the 90s. #
Kerissa is reintroduced in the current timeline during a meeting with the board of the school she created as they vote her off the school board as headmistress, leaving her out of work.
Losing the school leaves her unable to provide to for her son, so she calls her mother, who she has worked hard to get away from.
Because losing the school puts her in a financial bind, she’s allowed to move back in with her mother, this arrangement is supposed to be temporary until she can get enough money to move into her own place. Kerissa isn’t too happy with the arrangement, but it’s what she needs in the moment.
Kerissa finds out that her mother has cancer and that she may need Kerissa's help to take care of her. Along with that, Kerissa reunites with her best friend who tells her the reason her mother hates her. Then, Kerissa gains false hope that taking care of her mother would have her see value in her.
Kerissa's mother forces her to work at the wine store. It was at this wine store that Kerissa learns from her aunt Brenda that she's the owner of the house and the wine business, both of which her aunt wants her to sign over. Kerissa refuses because she was going to need that house after her mother passes on.
Because Aunt Brenda is adamant about getting the house after her mother pass away, she has to deal with her mother being violent towards her. Kerissa gets legal council to help her know her rights and defend herself.
Because Kerissa isn't giving up the house, Rowena is even more cold to her, except for one moment. Eventually she gets the courage to tell Rowena how she feels, but she gets blown off without an apology. During the time, Kerissa finds out that her daughter got married. #
