Introduction
The Mills is a Nan Fung Cotton Mills revitalization project by Nan Fung Group. The cotton mills were established in 1954, which is the highest-producing textile factory in Hong Kong at the time. In 1997, Unit 1 to Unit 3 were dismantled after the filming of the fire scene of Hong Kong film Lifeline and became the private residential estate Summit Terrace, while Unit 4 to Unit 6 ceased operation in 2008 and were converted into warehouses. In 2014, Nan Fung Group announced the revitalization project, and finally, The Mills opened in 2018.
2.Nina Park
[Introduction]
The Mills are divided into three parts: shopfloor, "CHAT", and fabrica. On the shopfloor, visitors can explore various shops that sell handmade products, clothing, and food. "Centre for Heritage, Arts and Textile", known as "CHAT", which is the former cotton-spinning mills of Nan Fung Textiles in Tsuen Wan. Visitors can explore different exhitbitions. Furthermore, regular walk-in CHAT Docent Tours are held free of charge during opening hours. Fabrica Atrium is at the core of The Mills Fabrica, overlooking the park with a magnificent mountain view and skylight. Fully equipped for conferences, cocktails, workshops, shootings and all kinds of activities when combined with the multifunctional hot desk area.
Nina Park is showcasing the largest collection of wood fossils among urban parks in Asia, all gathered by the late Mrs. Nina Wang, Chairwoman of Chinachem Group. This unique legacy will inspire local and international visitors through exciting “edutainment” programmes and innovative designs. As Hong Kong’s first and only wood fossil park, Nina Park invites everyone to embark on a voyage of a million lifetimes.

3.Sam Tung Uk Museum
History
To offer an enriching and inspiring visiting experience, Hong Kong ICH Centre at Sam Tung Uk Museum underwent a large-scale exhibition revamp in late 2020. The revamp works have been the largest ever since the inception of the Hong Kong ICH Centre. With more artistic and multimedia elements added, the new exhibition series "Lost and Sound — Hong Kong Intangible Cultural Heritage" reinterprets local traditional culture in an innovative and creative way, enabling visitors to learn more about Hong Kong ICH and the history, culture and architectural features of Sam Tung Uk.
1.Sam Tung Uk is a 200-year-old Hakka walled village that was declared a monument in 1981. It was converted into the Sam Tung Uk Museum and open to the public after restoration in 1987.
The Sam Tung Uk Museum covers 2,000 square metres. Its symmetrical layout resembles a chessboard with an entrance hall, a middle hall and an ancestral hall in the central axis. With four individual dwellings in the centre, the premises are completely walled in by rows of houses on each side and at the back.
1.It was built by a Chan in the Hakka dialect) clan under the leadership of the clan patriarch, Chan Yam-shing, in 1786 during the Qing dynasty. The Chan clan was originally from Fujian; they had moved to Guangdong, and then to Hong Kong to engage in farming. The site has been carefully restored and opened to the public as a museum.
Sam Tung Uk was vacated in April 1980 and declared a historic monument in March 1981. The Hong Kong government funded its restoration and converted it into a museum between 1986 and 1987. The restoration work won the Pacific Heritage Award of the Pacific Asia Tourist Association in 1990.

Sam Tung Uk was founded by Chan Yam-shing, a leader of the clan, who constructed three rows of village houses, which were later expanded by his descendants, who built annexes on both sides and at the back of the houses. The ancestral altar was placed in the main hall, which lay on the central axis and faced the main entrance. Four Chinese characters signifying ‘Chan Family Ancestral Hall’ are engraved on the granite lintel above the door frame. The village was restored in 1987 and opened to the public as the Sam Tung Uk Museum.
