Blood vessels
Vein - blood vessels that carry oxygen-poor blood to your heart. Pulmonary veins are an exception because they carry oxygen-rich blood from your lungs to your heart. They have a thin wall with a large lumen has valves to prevent low pressure blood backflowing
Artery - blood vessels that carry oxygen-rich blood away from your heart. Pulmonary artery's are an exception because they carry oxygen-poor blood from your heart to your lungs. They have a large elastic muscle and elastic layer to stretch and recoil while carrying high pressure blood
Capillary - delicate blood vessels that exist throughout your body. They transport blood, nutrients and oxygen to cells in your organs and body systems. Capillaries are the smallest blood vessels in your vascular system (only 1 cell thick).
