graphs of linear motion
distance / time graphs
-
gradient shows speed of body at a particular instant and show if body is at rest, travelling with constant speed, accelerating or decelerating.
-
-
speed/ time graph
-
-
-
-
positive curve - increasing gradient = speed increaing, so acceleration
-
velocity / time graph
-
-
-
upward curve = increase in velocity, acceleration
-
velocity time graphs can also show the direction of the body - increase line, shows the player applied a force to the ball towards player B, deceleration, then player b cushions the ball to rest position followed by an acceleration and deceleration as he passes it back
-
linear motion is the movement of a body in a straight or curved line where all parts move the same distance, direction and same time. resultant from direct force. where force applied directly to centre of body mass
