Autumn clothing
When the weather gets colder during Autumn, people start to wear warmer clothing like scarves, long jerseys, long pants, beanies and sometimes gloves. https://za.pinterest.com/pin/5348093302826410/
Activity: Have the Grade R learners draw an outline of their body in their books. Once they are finished, give them the printed-out Autumn clothing for the learners to colour in and cut out. When they are finished, they will stick down the clothing where it needs to go (beanie-head, scarf-neck, gloves-hands etc.) https://za.pinterest.com/pin/14144186324129563/

Activity: On a big hard tray, tape some big leaves to the tray. Give the learners an A4 page and some wax crayons (orange, yellow, red). Instruct them to put the page on top of the leaves and they must colour in the white page. The leaves will start to appear, creating an Autumn background. On another piece of paper, have the learners draw either their favorite hot drink or their favorite hot food. When they are finished drawings and colouring it in, they need to cut out their picture and stick it down on the leafy Autumn page. https://za.pinterest.com/pin/310889180519202932/

When is Autum?
Autumn is the third season of the year. It is the season between Summer and Winter, and it happens in the months of March, April and May. The weather goes from a warm climate to a cooler climate, and this causes most people to stay indoors and animals to gather and store food for the upcoming season after Autum, Winter.
Activity: Have learners bring in the middle part of the toilet paper roll. Have them cut the roll into small circles. The learners will be given an A3 page and that will have to draw a green stem (they will be making corn painting prints). Once they have draw the stems, they will be given green and yellow paint. With one small circle that they have cut out, they will bend it slightly to make a oval almost. They will hold it in that shape and dip it in the green paint first and put in down on the stem to make a leaf outline. Once they have down two of those, they will use a small sponge (that has been cut in a small circle) and they will dip that in the yellow paint, and they will press it onto the page to make the corn on the page. https://za.pinterest.com/pin/135671007546306123/
