Different types of vegetables
Teach learners about different types of vegetables as suggested by The Editors of Encyclopedia Britannica. There are five different types of vegetables, which includes root, stem, leaf, bulb and flower vegetables. Bring one of each type of vegetable to school and teach them why this specific vegetable belongs to that category.

As the activity in the case study in BKN SS1 suggested, do an activity on the effects of the different types of soil on the growth of vegetables. Teach learners why the soil has this effect on the growth of vegetables.

Where vegetables come from
Role play: Assign different learners to do different tasks. Some learners are farmers who plant vegetables at one part of the classroom, some learners sell the vegetables at a store at another part of the classroom and other learners live in a house at another part of the classroom and goes shopping for vegetables at the store.
History
Where vegetables come form
Tell learners stories about the past and how people did not have shops to buy vegetables at in the past and that they had to grow vegetables themselves. They didn't have access to most vegetables as not all vegetables are available in all places.
