Taste and texture of vegetables
vegetables have many different tastes and textures. Not only does this depend on the difference in vegetables but the difference in the ripeness or the vegetable been cooked or uncooked.
A selection of both raw and cooked vegetables will be used for the learners to have a taste test. A marking sheet will be provided.They will then mark a x over a face that identifies how they feel about the taste and texture.
Colours and shapes of vegetables
Colour of vegetables - eat a rainbow vegetables of the same colour usually contain similar vitimins and protective compounds (betterhealth, 2022)
we have identified that they have similar protective compounds, what else is the same group all vegetables based on the colour and identify other similarities focusing on where they grow, the size and shape differences or similarities.

Different vegetables come from different parts of the country they have to be grown in different climits and soil conditions.

Take about the weather conditions in different areas around the country, marking identifying features on a map. then talk about different vegetables and the weather they are suited to, let the learners identify which areas the vegetables predominantly grow in.

the teacher will provide selected vegetables. the learners will identify the vegetables, this provide feedback as to prior knowledge of the vegetables also stating if they eat that vegetable and why. the same selection of vegetables will then be used two prepare 3 different cultural dishes

how to identify different vegetables within the same biological groups. look at images and design a chart of characteristics to look out for. create biological group name markers and the individual markers for each vegetable plant.

From a list of vegetables, we will identify where they come from inorder to know if their growing conditions are hot or cold or wet or dry. we will then design an create a suitable growing environment in the school for each vegetable, plant the vegetable seeds and wait for them to grow to evaluate if growth in created environments can work.
