-
Infant Mortality Rate

Empowering Women
Economy
When women do not have good access to education they often get married young and start a family, resulting in more years of having babies, which results in higher fertility. Think Somalia, 2.9 years of school, 6 children per mom.
-
Education
When people, especially women, get more education, they tend to have fewer kids and start families later. This helps slow down population growth because they focus on careers and family planning. Countries with good education systems often grow more slowly.
-
Age of Population
The age distribution of a population plays a significant role in determining its growth rate. Countries with a younger population, like Brazil, tend to experience faster growth because there are more people in their prime reproductive years. In contrast, countries with an older population, such as Japan, typically have slower growth rates due to fewer young people entering adulthood and having children.
