Agricultural Revolution
Notes: During the agricultural revolution technology was applied to farming to grow more food on the same area of land.

Industrial Revolution
Notes: New technology means you need fewer farmers so people moved to the city. This began the Industrial revolution and new technology such as the steam engine, sanitation, vaccines, and nutrition. All of this means less people are dying and more people are living longer. This means that there is a lower infant mortality rate and longer life expectancy. The global population went up.

Notes: Depending on what country you live in, in this case( Canada), there is a different culture or attitude towards how many children you should have for a normal family size. In Canada, the norm is to have anywhere from 1-3 children in each family.

Notes: Depending on what country you live in, in this case (Kenya), there is a different culture or attitude towards how many children you should have for a normal family size. In Kenya, the norm is to have around 6-7 children.

Notes: In poor countries where many people are farmers in can be financially advantageous to have more children, FREE LABOUR! This means fertility rates tend to be more high in poor farming economies.

Notes: When women get married young and have less education, they usually have more babies as there is a longer period to have babies. As the average oldest age to have babies is around 30 or 35, people that spend less time on education have more time to make children. When women spend longer time on education they have less time to have babies, therefore only having a few
Example: Women in Kenya often end then education at 17 or 18 and this means they have around 15 years of baby-making time. This is also why Kenya's average family size is high. Women in a country like Singapore or Japan have low family sizes because it is a social attitude that everyone deserves a good education, so most women go to university and law or med school. This usually means they have a very short time for children.
