Religion may affect interventions that are acceptable: end-of-life treatments, ideas towards abortion, ideas towards stem cell research, and prohibition against blood transfusions

Religions may affect the response to diseases and to interventions: role pf prayer as an intervention to alter outcome on its own versus to support medical care

Environmental: usually associated with pollution, natural disasters, and dangers of built environment
Family size: adversely affects health and is traditionally associated with lower socioeconomic status and lower health status
Occupational exposures: Lower socioeconomic jobs are traditionally associated with increased exposures to health risks
Educational opportunities for women: education for women has an impact on the health of children and families
Living conditions: increase sanitation, reduce being with crowds and methods of heating and cooking

to take action in individual behavior a doctor should give advice on how to avoid risky behaviors
stuff that would involve people to stop or start doing would be: smoking, exercise, diet, and limiting alcohol use
Addressing the social gradient means addressing inequality across the whole of society
For people it is hard to get them not to smoke because of psychological reasons, simple advice will not work
main idea is that health is not determined by the doctors but rather arrangements in society
it is our job to spread awareness so is humans can be more healthy
