In the setting I attended on placement they had a continuous provision area for the children to explore and develop fundamental skills for their learning and development. The area consisted of areas such as construction, water and sand play, dough area, role play, arts and crafts, painting and much more. These were mostly planned around a specific theme for example "children's in need day" . However, the setting I attended seemed to not keep the same activities for longer than a week. Although this can be beneficial in others ways the children where therefore not developing fundamental skills during recipical learning and where only playing with the activities once. whereas if the setting where to keep the same activities a little bit longer the children will therefore develop the fundamental skills needed to for their prime areas of learning.
