Present Perfect
USE
Actions or events that started in the past and continue in the present
An action or event that happened at an indefinite in the past
Already ,always,ever,and never come before the past participle/Yet and so far arre common at the end of the sentence
recently completed actions or events just is common with this use of the present perfect
To connect the past to the present
Use For + an amount of time /Use Since + a specific past time/Use a past time clause with Since
Simple Past
USE
Completed actions or events
the exact time of the past action or event is given or understood
a completed past time period
Present Perfect Progressive
without for or since to emphasize that the action happened recently or ̣is temporary
use with for Since or For
for repeated actions that started in the past and continue in the present
Used for continuous actions that are not completed
The present perfect and present perfect progressive have similar meanings with some verbs: live, work, teach
NOTE :Is not used with STATIVE VERB
Past Perfect
to show that one action or event happened before another past action ,event,or time
for the action or event that happened first
already ,always,ever,just and never usually go before the past participle
Past perfect progressive
when an action or event was happening for a period of time unit ̣ or just before another action,event or time
to talk about how long something happened
