1. Shaping Norms:
A certain behavior could become the new accepted norm among groups.
2. Enforcing Patterns of Social Control:
Rules and regulations in place to create structure in society.
3. Providing Opportunities to Engage in Healthy Behaviors:
The opportunities an individual might have can have a strong influence on their health
4. Encouraging Selection of Healthy Behaviors as a Coping Strategy:
Common coping strategies among a group or individual.
Socioeconomic Status:
Measures a person's status by family income and/or educational level and their professional status

Religion can have a major impact on health, some practices even ban certain health interventions such as blood transfusions
