        There are specific stereotypes for each community around Noah's life. The problem is how these stereotypes affect their daily life, mostly through racism and discrimination. In this case, since Patricia was from the Xhosa community, she was seen as an uneducated woman with no matters, dragging Noah and herself in danger.

        Language is one of the most important elements in any culture. In the previous quote we can see how Afrikaans, one of the main languages in South Africa is being used. It can also be seen the racist culture that was in South Africa with usage of the word "Boesman." A racial slur only found in South Africa.

        Sandrigham is a British name. This shows the reader how the people inside South Africa have started to use language of the colonizers. British names and language acclaiming to the local region. This forming an important part of the South African and the colonized identity.

        Trevor learned many languages when he was a kid, helping him connect with many people even when he wasn't part of their group. Language was a huge barrier that separated his society, so when he was able to communicate with anyone, this barrier was surpassed.

        This quote shows the reader the political context in which the people of South Africa found themselves. How the government categorized and promoted people based on their color and their "tribe." This marks an important historical action in South Africa's history and identity.

        Racism is a real problem that segregates the society into different groups. Especially during the time this book was written, South Africans were having a really hard time being segregated and lacking from freedom. This was a big problem Noah faced, especially since he was mixed, he couldn't easily pick a color to identify himself, it depended on different factors.

        This showing the reader the historical context in which Trevor found himself in. The fall Apartehid being an important moment in south african history, marking the bringign of right and freedoms to the segregated peoples.

        This quote shows the reader how the Apartheid took several actions to segregate the local population. They wanted to Trevors dad to install black bathroom and make these distictions in his restaurant. However, Trevors dad being the progressive man that he was, he closed the restaurant rather than following the racists and unlogical rules of the Apartheid.

        This entire chapter talks about the entire interpretation of history in the eye of teh West. This showing the duality of how history is interpreted and how some countries/peoples think that some other people or countries as worse villians that Hitler. The exmpale of the Congo, Angola, and the Native Americans were given.

        this quote shwos how crime occurs in a community when social opportunities and government services are lacking. The South African government was among the most discriminating in history, but crime disregards a person's appearance or academic performance. Crime is everything that the South African government ought to be.

        Abel was transformed Noah's life, even though he had a relationship with him at first, he became a dangerous person that destroyed their family. Noah doesn't know how to feel about him, because everyone, even himself, like Abel, the nice guy who fix cars, but once alcohol got into him, he became violent.
