Collectivism - the ownership of land and the means of production by the people or the state, as a political principle or system.
Marx - Emphasised the collective interest, enconomic equality and public ownership as proponents of collectivism
Giddens - believed in a mixed economy and rejected state intervention. Acceptamce of a free market in the economy with emphasis on equality of opportunity over equality. Role of state is social investment not economic and social engineering

Webb - believed in the same ends as marx so had similar views on how the state would run the economy

Equality - the state of being equal, especially in status, rights, or opportunities.
Giddens - denied the idea as he believed inequality was necessary for economic growth yet believed in equality in a social sense
Marx - Believed in equal opportunity and under capitalism, equality was not able to be achieved due to uneven distribution. required a classless society
Webb - believed in creation of a welfare state with collective ownership where people are not singled out.
Crossland - Reducing inequality through state intervention and social policies. Equal oppurtunity needed not full equality
Workers Control - Workers' control is participation in the management of factories and other commercial enterprises by the people who work there over the state.
Webb - Believed in state ownership with decisions on workforce made by the workforce mainly ran by experts within. Importance of state to ensure this.
Marx - Believed workers should have direct, collective control to aid transition to socialism. Rejection of capitalist and hierarchal management increasing democracy
Giddens - Believed workers control and a free market wouldn't function so prioritises private ownership to make profit
Crossland - supports limited and regulated workers control within a capitalist economy like worker aid in decision making and trade unions. no advocation for full worker ownership
Common Humanity - the idea that all humans are connected by a shared humanity, and that we face similar problems and experiences
Giddens - Rejects the idea as he is in favour of free market and individual responsibility. Disregards common humanity and instead focuses on encouraging competition
Marx - All humans face the issue of Capitalism and human unity will only arise through a classless system where people are free and given ability to fulfil human potential.
Believed in inevability of gradualness which reflects shared interests of the people so she blieves in a comm humanity but agress with marx that it is only achievable through socialism.
Crossland - Believed in correlation between success and rewards and believes that through gradual social reform, a democracy can form and people can all live equally fulfilling lives.
