- Bulb vegetables - bulbs used as food eg. onions, garlic
- Leafy vegetables - plant leaves that are eaten eg. spinach, parsley, kale
- Flower vegetables - in the shape of a flower eg. cauliflower, broccoli
- Root vegetables - grown underground eg. carrots, potatoes
- Stem Vegetables - shoots or stalks eg. spring onions, chives, celery
