Advertisement Style Ideas
Realistic Narrative
I'm going to do this as I want my advertisement to be based on the product itself rather than a unrealistic story, and it would be hard to pull off a antirealist narrative due to the budget we have where we can't CGI things in to make it look unrealistic.
Antirealist Narrative
An antirealist narrative is not going to happen as I already stated how I plan to do a realistic narrative, for the style of advert I already had envisioned beforehand this would go completely against it rendering some of my other styles/ideas useless.
Animation
Animation is hard to pull off without a good budget as I don't know how to animate well enough, especially for the time-frame we have it would be quite difficult alongside the vision I currently have is a realistic narrative and that goes completely against what a realistic narrative is. So, I'm not going to do an animation focused advertisement style.
Documentary
A documentary style could be interesting and doable with my current idea, I'll keep it in my mind whilst I evaluate my options as I think by the end of this I'll have a few routes planned out and then I will choose one to go with for my final advertisement.
Talking Heads
I doubt I'm going to go with the talking heads concept because I'm unsure if I'm going to even include people within my advertisement, this is because I want it to be purely focused on the product rather than the person using it.
Stand
Alone
This is going to be the one I go with as I don't have the time to sit here and make multiple advertisements that are similar to each other, I'll rather sit down and make one high-quality advertisement.
Series
If I was to make a series a problem with it would be what if the idea flops, then it would've been a waste of time if I decided to do that instead of making an 'stand alone'. Where in that I'd be able to find out from that if the idea is good or not. Then from there if I was doing this in a real setting, I would make duplicate adverts off it that are all spin-offs etc.
Humour
Although this sounds like a good idea, with the current rough vision I have for my advertisement. It would be too serious for it to become a 'humour' advertisement as that would need to be the focal point of my video and I don't want that to be the case.
Parody
Parody is a style I don't plan to go with as it would take some time for me to go and find a style/stereotype I would like to make fun of, so, it's too costing on time as well as it would need to be executed very well otherwise it would just look bad.
Shock
Shock could be used in combination with the documentary style I was considering so I will come back to this, if I decide to go with the documentary style of course. Otherwise it wouldn't be relevant enough to include in my original idea.
Surrealism
I like the idea of a surrealism based video but a draw back is how creative I would need to be and personally I believe if you want to do something 'crazy' then a good budget would also be required making another draw-back to the concept where it wouldn't work. I think there's too many arrows pointing away from me doing this idea as there's some I also have that wouldn't work in cooperation with it, so, I'm going to leave this style be.
Intertextuality
This is one of those styles where I believe it's too unrealistic for me to get as I need something like a brand I can use to promote another brand I like I showed in my Simpsons and Butterfingers collaborative advertisement video. As I don't have access to anything like that it's probably not going to happen.
Repetition
Repetition is a solid idea but this would depend if I would want there to a voice-over alongside if we was to do it visually, it would be hard to repeat it without it being boring to the consumer. I'm not totally against this idea yet so I won't be surprised if I end up going with it when I write my 'overall' for this task.
Famous Faces
This is one that's too unrealistic for me to achieve as I unfortunately don't know any celebrities who could come down and feature in my advertisement so this one is out of the realm of possibilities.
