Reading research articles might be overwhelming due to the vocabulary. But to better understand the information there are a few take away points

Reading methods
Read the abstract, the introduction, and the conclusion. This provides key information to understand the unknowns or the problems, the main findings and the importance of the paper.
Then read the entire paper, analyze the figures and look up words or phrases you don’t comprehend.
Re-read the paper again. Now that you have clear understanding and comprehension of the figures and vocabulary for deeper understanding
