LEARNERS UNDERSTAND THAT ANIMALS ARE ABLE TO BLEND IN WITH THEIR SURROUNDINGS IN ORDER TO PROTECT THEMSELVES FROM PREDATORS.

LEARNERS LEARN CERTAIN CHARACTERSITICS ABOUT REPTILES, SUCH AS THEIR SIZE, THEIR DIET, ETC.
THE TEACHER WILL READ THE LEARNERS A STORY ABOUT A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A REPTILE AND AFTER THE STORY HAS BEEN READ, THE TEACHER WILL ENGADE THE CHILDREN INA DISCUSSION, ASKING QUESTIONS SUCH AS: "HOW DOES THE LIZARDS SKIN FEEL? WHAT DID THE LIZARD EAT DURING THE DAY? WHERE DOES THE LIZARD SIT IN THE SUN? ETC."
DIFFERENT REPTILES
LEARNERS ARE INTRODUCED TO THE CONCEPT "REPTILES" AND WHICH ANIMALS ARE CLASSIFIED AS A REPTILE.
THE TEACHER EXPLAINS TO THE CHILDREN WHAT A REPTILE IS, AND PRESENTS THEKM WITH A CHART DISPLAYING SOME REPTILES. THE CHILDREN ARE THEN GIVEN AN ACTIVITY, WHEREBY THEY ARE TASKED TO COLOUR IN ONLY THE REPTILES ON A HABITAT PICTURE, WHICH DISPLAYS A WIDE VARIETY OF ANIMALS.
