Pathology Of Urinary Tract System
glomerular disease
Glomerulonephritis
1. Acute glomerulonephritis
sudden inflammation of the glomeruli in the kidneys, often resulting from an immune response to an infection or other triggers.
2. Chronic glomerulonephritis
long-term condition characterized by the gradual inflammation and damage to the glomeruli in the kidneys. It can lead to chronic kidney disease (CKD) and, ultimately, end-stage renal disease (ESRD) if not managed effectively.
inflammation of the glomeruli, the small filtering units in the kidneys. It can be acute or chronic and can lead to various complications, including kidney failure.
nephrotic syndrome : NS
kidney disorder characterized by a group of symptoms resulting from damage to the glomeruli, leading to excessive protein loss in the urine. It can occur as a primary condition or secondary to other diseases.
Urinary tract obstruction
Kidney stone
hard mineral and salt deposits that form in the kidneys. They can vary in size and may cause significant pain, especially when they move through the urinary tract.
Neurogenic bladder
condition where there is a loss of normal bladder function due to a neurological condition. This can lead to problems with bladder control, including incontinence, urinary retention, and difficulty with emptying the bladder completely.
Urinary tract infection: UTI
pyelonephritis
1. Acute pyelonephritis
sudden and severe kidney infection that typically affects one or both kidneys. It is a type of urinary tract infection (UTI)
2. Chronic pyelonephritis
long-standing kidney infection that results in permanent damage to the kidneys, often leading to chronic kidney disease (CKD).
Renal failure
1. Acute renal failure: ARF
sudden decline in kidney function that occurs within hours to days. This condition can lead to the accumulation of waste products in the blood and electrolyte imbalances,
2. Chronic renal failure
gradual loss of kidney function over time. It is characterized by a progressive decline in the kidneys' ability to filter waste and excess fluids from the blood
