TITANS
RHEIA (Rhea) : 1. mother of the gods, and goddess of female fertility, motherhood, and generation
- eternal flow of time and generations; "flow" menstrual blood, birth waters, and milk.
- wearing a turret crown, and attended by lions.
ATLAS : 1. Titan god who bore the sky aloft 2. personified the quality of endurance 3. god who instructed mankind in the art of astronomy
PRIMORDIAL GODS
KHRONOS (Chronos) 1. primordial god of time. 2. serpentine in form, with three heads--that of a man, a bull, and a lion.
URANUS: 1. primordial god (protogenos) of the sky 2. solid dome of brass, decorated with stars, edges upon the outermost limits of the flat earth
UNDERWORLD GODS
HYPNOS: 1. god or personified spirit (daimon) of sleep. 2. a horn of sleep-inducing opium, a poppy-stem, a branch dripping water from the river Lethe (Forgetfulness), or an inverted torch.
PERSEPHONE: 1. goddess queen of the underworld 2. depicted as a young goddess holding sheafs of grain and a flaming torch. 3. goddess of spring growth
SEA GODS
POSEIDON: 1. god of the sea, earthquakes, floods, drought and horses. 2. mature man with a sturdy build and dark beard holding a trident (a three-pronged fisherman's spear).
AMPHITRITE : 1. goddess-queen of the sea 2. female personification of the sea--the loud-moaning mother of fish, seals and dolphins.
SKY GODS
EOS: 1. goddess of the dawn 2. driving a chariot drawn by winged horses or borne aloft on her own wings
ZEUS: 1. King of the Gods and the god of the sky, weather
- lightning bolt, a royal sceptre and an eagle.
RUSTIC GODS
PAN: 1.god of shepherds and hunters 2.man with the horns, legs and tail of a goat
NYMPHAI (Nymphs) : 1 female spirits of the natural world--minor goddesses of the forests, rivers, springs, meadows, mountains and seas
