Ancient Civilization
Mesopotamia
Location: Mesopotamia was around 2 great rivers.The meaning of Mesopotamia is between the rivers.Mesopotamia lays between the borders of iraq it also extended into turkey. (Steele 6)
Writing: writing in Mesopotamia is very different from writing now. They used pictures and other objects such as cattle and grain. Around 3300 the citizens of Urke used over 700 symbols. These symbols are pressed into soft clay. which harden over time that why we have artifacts today.

Religion: they worshiped many gods and goddesses they believed the stars traveling across the sky was cow of sin.inanna was the goddesses of love and war. Marduk was their main god.(Steele 14)
Art: There main form of art are clay creations. hey made things like pots and pans. They needed to make more at a time so they created a pottery wheel. which made pottery production go much faster. They also do metalworking. they mix copper and bronze to make their desired project.

Government: the government of Mesopotamia is indented. In the book, it states Sumerians enjoyed great power and fame, and their exploits and deeds were remembered for centuries. Sumerian is a very important person for the citizens. As just someone how leads them and helps them.(Steele 10)
Architecture: One fundamental architecture to them was their ziggurats which was a massive terraced platform made of brick. It represented a mountain, stretching from earth to heaven. The ziggurats formed a part of sacred precincts. Temple platforms were being built at Eridua as early as 5000 BCE. (Steele 24)

goverment: on page 10 it said Pharaohs were their gods they worshiped them and saw him as a significant person. His wife would be called a goddess. I know that Pharaohs were brought to the throne at a very young age until they died—pharaohs were what was keeping ancient Egypt going. (hart 10 )
writing:
on page 34 it said scribes had to be experts at writing in hieroglyphs. They had to learn 700 different signs.only scribes learned because it was to complicated to teach anyone else.The pictures tell us that they needed to learn how to write for business contacts,letters, and stories.(hart 34)

on page 8 it said that " Egyptians lived on the banks of the Nile river" 90% of the land was desert and called the red land but most people lived along the river. Without the silt to fertilize the land , there would not have been Egyptian civilisation. (hart 8)
art. On page 50 it talked about all the diffrent kinds of dances they did.the Egyptians enjoyed life.They would sing and dance and even play the flute and some times even the harp they performed almost everyday. they where drunk when they danced.So they really did enjoy there life.

architecture on page 20 there first pyramid was built as the burial place of king Djoser. They had temples such as Karnak at thebes. scared to some of the gods. in the text it said "they had a famous temple called the temple of Dendera". (hart 20)
religion
the author wrote that the "Egyptians worshiped hundreds of different gods and goddesses". I know because many of the gods where represented by animals. The sun god was dominant deity in Egyptian religion.(hart 24)

page 6 as you can see china is the oldest continuous civilization.Ancient china remained untouched by outside influence because it was a world apart.china united as the first single state in 221 B.C. by the first empire. (cotterell 6)

Art: page 54. The Chinese looked at gardens like it was a beautiful piece of art .chinese gardens were designed to reflect nature in unique ways. They let trees grow in the most beautiful unique ways without cutting them down. (cotterell 54)
technology:on page 34 showed some intention and new technology that they used for farming. It shows a Irrigation machine "They transferred water using the Irrigation machine which is manually operated".They often used this to water there crops on dry days. (cotterell 34)
government: page 16 .In 221 B.C. the chinese Empire was formed.Zheng took the first title at empire. Empire qin built thousands of buildings and sculptures . He also built the great wall of china. (cotterell 34)
religion: page 12 Confucius believed that the time he served was the golden years of social harmony.confucius developed a new moral outlook based on respect and kindness .Confucius encourage everyone to worship because it strength people together (cotterell 12)
Writing:on page 11 it said that questions and answers were insricbed on Oracle bones.It also states that "an ox bone or trotoieshell was scorched until it cracked". the oracle bones were used by the shang king a to consult with ancestors (cotterell 11)
commerce:page 58 Trade flourished under the mongol,or yuan, dynasty. They controlled the entire length of the silk road.in the text it says that the silk road made trading between them easier. cotterell 58
Ancient India
**Location: 5,000 Years ago civilization developed along the Indus river.Additionally the land is very fertile which is very great for agriculture.So many people have moved to go live on those fertile lands.(source

Technology:People in the Indus valley created well buildings.They also cared deeply about personal hygiene.one reason** that they cared so much about architecture is because there home needed to be protected by floods.(source

Religion:The religion of ancient Aryans was known as brahmanism,was polycystic and heavily influenced the later development of Hinduism.Both religions have much in common and share many rituals.(source

Government:Brahmana was at the top of the pirmind They were priest and the educated.kshatriya was second on the pirmind and they where rulers and warriors.vaishya was 3rd on the pirmind and they where farmers and merchants.sudra where 4th on the pyramid and they where laborers and servants.last on the pyramid was the dalits and they where called the untouchables.(source
