J.B Watson was one of the originators of behaviorist approaches to learning. He believes that human behavior resulted from specific stimuli that elicited certain responses. His conclusions about human development should be based on observation of overt behavior rather than speculation about subconscious motives or latent cognitive processes.
Behaviorism played a significant role of the system approach to the design of instruction many of the terminology and concepts can be traced to behavior theories.
