Physioligy
Respirotory
Tidal Volume
Tidal volume is the amount of air breathed in or exhaled during one breath - when exercising your tidal volume will increase as the demand of oxygen increases
minute volume -
-
during exercise, the amount of gas inhaled will increase due to the demmand of o2
oxygen dissocation curve
the temperature of muscle increases secondary to its utilization, thus shifting the curve to the right and allowing oxygen to be more easily unloaded from hemoglobin and deliver to tissues in need. This is due to the body trying to stabalize the ph levels in the body as well as decreasing the tempreture pof the muscles that are working
the oxygen dissocation is an curve a graph which shows the relationship between the partial pressure of oxygen and oxygen saturation of haemoglobin

respiratory muscles
-
respiratory muscles consist of the diaphgram, intercostal muscles(ribs) and the abdominal muscles.they help psuh all of the O2 and CO2 out and around the body.
Muscular
type 1 muscle fibres-high oxidative and low glycolotic capacity and these are slow twitch muscle fibres
these are the muscles that are generally used for endurance sports as they dont fatigue quickly
not all muscle fibres are used at once as the brain does not recruit them all to avoid muscular damage and injury
type 2 and type 2x muscle fibres are recruited when fast and explosive movements are required, these are fast twitch muscle fibres which generally not resistant to fatigue and do so quickly.
micro tears-when exercising the body muscles are made up of tiny muscle fibres which relax and contract against each other resulting in thousands of microtears.when the body is then at rest the proteins we consume fill these tears up which then results in a bigger and stronger muscle
The amount of heat
your muscles produce is related to the amount of work they perform: the more intense the exercise, the more heat they produce.
at rest the amount of blood distributed to all the muscles is around 20%.CO increases from 5-6 litres of blood to 15-20 and when involved in excessive the blood pumped into the working muscles raises to 86%
