Potatoes are grown in all provinces across SA. Spinach, carrots and cabbages are grown in cooler climates like western, eastern and northern cape.
Tomatoes grow mainly in warmer climates like Limpopo and Mpumalanga
Using a map of South Africa, the learners will place pictures of certain vegetables, on the map, in the provinces they grow.
Potatoes 120 days, carrots 80 days, tomatoes 85 days, spinach 60 days (James, 2024)
Learners will colour in a vegetable worksheet and create a basic timeline that shows the days it takes for certain vegetables to grow.
